Montana offers a broad selection of big game to hunt during rifle season, including antelope, big horn sheep, bison, black bear, deer, elk, moose, mountain lion, turkey, and more. Hunting licenses and permits are available for purchase for both Montana residents and nonresidents on the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Department website.

The historic Sportsman’s Lodge, built in 1945, is surrounded by 18 rustic log cabins and 11 mountain view rooms. The rustic log cabins are no-fuss, simple, and clean; perfect for a good night’s rest after a big day of hunting, fishing, or exploring. Each cabin has a deck area with seating to enjoy the fresh mountain air and big sky views.

36th Annual Hunters Feed in Ennis, Montana

Also, don’t miss the 36th Annual Hunters Feed on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 3:00-5:00 PM to kick off the season! Join us for a Wild Game Cooking Contest and Live Music!

The event takes place on Main Street in Ennis, in beautiful Madison County. Friends, families, visitors, and locals gather together to kick off rifle season. The Ennis Chamber of Commerce Hunters Feed is held every year on Friday before rifle season opens.
